Maquillage Professionnel: The 13 Day Journey

Yehey! Finally, I have free time on my hands. 🙂

I feel like it has been months since I last ‘seriously’ blogged! I’ve been very busy during the last two weeks of April to the first week of May because of art – the Art of Makeup ! hihi

As I have been raving on Facebook, I enrolled for professional makeup classes at Maquillage Professionnel last April with the course entitled: Module 1: Facial Beauty, Fashion & Photography Make up for Professionals.

Classes ended already but I have to say that it was such a wonderful experience! I learned the French methodology of makeup application, refined my personal makeup techniques, and made a lot of new friends!!

I was definitely a busy yet happy Scorpio during those two and a half weeks even though it meant going to work at 730am and arriving home at 11pm. 🙂

The Artists

I was enrolled for the 6pm -10pm, April 18 – May 4 Module 1 course. Here’s a picture of my classmates.

(Front to Back, Left to Right) Kristina, Mariella, Vanessa, Kimberly, Kist (me), Aimee, Gayle, Michelle, and Judy. Fine and Rowie aren’t here in the photo.

We all had different reasons for enrolling but we had 1 thing in common, our love for makeup. I personally think we all had a good chemistry together because we grew closer to each other as days passed by. I miss them now!!!

The Setup

That’s Ms. Mikee, National Trainer of Make Up For Ever, doing a demo.

After each lecture and demo, we were supposed to do the same technique/look on our models. For 13 days, I struggled to look for a model. Good thing a lot of them allowed me to ‘play’ with their faces. hihi

The 13 Days of Makeup Artistry

Day 1: Base Application
Model: Neri

We were taught how to apply base products onto would-be clients.

Day 2: Face Shape Correction and Eyebrow Correction
Model: Rachelle

Rachelle, or Chai, has a round face shape. I don’t think I did a great job though. huhu Teacher said there are still other days to improve. 🙂 I wasn’t able to take a ‘before’ photo be because I forgot. haha

Day 3: Facial Balance, Eye Shape Correction, and Lip Correction
Model: Nice

Thank you to Cara for referring her to be my model for that day! Hihi

Day 4: Maquillage de Jour (Day Makuep)
Model: Jenny

Yet again, I forgot to take a before photo. huhu Jenny is already a beautiful girl. She doen’t like makeup very much but I’m glad she liked the look I made on her. Thanks Jenny!! 🙂

Day 5: Maquillage de Soir (Evening Makeup)
Model: Rosemay

Rosemay is my HS bestfriend! I’m so glad she modeled for me on such short notice!! 🙂 I put green eyeshadow on her to make her eyes vibrant! 😉

Day 6: The Smokey Eye
Model: Rosemay

We were all excited for this day because we’re to learn of the Smokey eye technique! We found out that this technique only uses one color!!! XD But I guess different methodologies have their own smokey eye technique yet produces the same smoked out look. 🙂

Day 7: Makeup for Photography – Black and White
Model: Carol

One of my prettiest models, Carol here is a former model and is thus, used to this sort of thing. haha She’s currently working as a Solar News TV newscaster. Cool! 🙂 Here’s her before and after photo. 🙂

Day 9: Bridal Makeup – Day Wedding
Model: Hazel

Another Solar News TV newscaster and equally beautiful as Carol is my 9th model, Hazel. 🙂 Did the Day bridal look on her. I wasn’t really satisfied with the outcome. Ako lang yun. XD I told myself I’d do waayy wayyy better on the next look. I must do Hazel some justice! But what do you think? XD

Day 10: Bridal Makeup – Evening Wedding
Model: Hazel

Tanan!! Was more happier with this look. Hazel helped me out here so we were able to acheive the best look that both made us happy!! huli kaaaa!! :))

PS: I had to repeat her ‘before’ photo because you know… nakalimutan ko nanaman. haha

Day 11: Audibiche Eyes (Doe eyes)
Model: Alula

Ahh! TheAudibiche eyes. This is the most difficult look we had to make and gladly, we all came out alive!

Good thing my lovely model was very adventurous with makeup that night!! hihi thus the outcome. it would have been more dramatic if I had extravagant fake lashes. XD

  1. huwaw…grabe, bakit kasi di ako maging model para may free make-up din..ahaha 🙂 goodjob Kist!!!

  2. hi! would you recommend module 1 for a beginner like me? i dont event know how to put on make up myself 😛 but i do want to learn, been watchin a lot of you make up videos hehe. also with this module, will i be needing to buy my own make up stuff and brushes? thanks so much! 🙂

    1. Hello Sol! 😀 I wouldn’t recommend this if you are a “super” beginner who just wants to learn how to put makeup for oneself. But!!! I will recommend this if you’ve been putting makeup for a long time and tried putting makeup on others. 😀 If you have thoughts of becoming a professional after the course, then take it! But if it’s for your personal enrichment, then take their personal makeup course instead (a lot cheaper too). 🙂

With any of their modules, you don’t need to bring makeup and brushes. They will provide everything you need. This is one advantage Maquillage Professionnel offers compared to other makeup schools. 🙂

Keep me posted about your choice!! hope this helps. 😀

    1. Hi Jeffrey!! 🙂 Thank you for your kind words!! 😀

The course is priced at Php30,000. that’s 13 days. You can pay via credit card so it won’t be so heavy on the pocket!

Also! they usually have summer sales and cut 40% off the price! So instead of Php30,000, all you need to pay is Php18,000. It might be worth the wait!! 🙂
